12 Years Promise (2014) or Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup: 12 Years Reunion [Dalrae Doen, Jang-guk: Yisimnyeonmanui Jaehoe] is a South Korean comedy, romance drama directed by Kim Do Hyung. It stars Lee So-yeon, Namgoong Min, Lee Tae-im, Yoon So-Hui, Lee Won-geun and Ryu Hyo-young. It aired on JTBC on March 22, 2014 through June 29, 2014.
12 Years Promise is about high school sweethearts Jang Gook (Lee So Yeon) and Yoo Joon-Soo (Namgoong Min), two individuals who were over-exuberant about their celebrations of South Korea’s 2002 World Cup win. After their mischievous night, Jang Gook is pregnant. The two high-schoolers decide to get married but they are forced to break up because of their families strong opposition to their relationship. Jang Gook ends up moving to the United States and where she changes her name to Jang Dal Rae (Lee So Yeon). Yoo Joon-Soo was the son of a wealthy family but he ends up becoming their breadwinner when the family is forced to live paycheck-to-paycheck. 12 years later, Jang Dal Rae and Yoo Joon Soo meet up again and they become hopelessly entangled in each other’s lives.
