My Love from the Star (2013-2014) [Byeoreseo on geudae] is a South Korean romantic fantasy television series written by Park Ji-eun, directed by Jang Tae-yoo and produced by Moon Bo-mi and Choi Moon-suk. It stars Kim Soo-hyun, Jun Ji-hyun, Park Hae-jin and Yoo In-na. The series aired on SBS from December 18, 2013 to February 27, 2014. My Love from the Star got generally positive reviews during its release in South Korea and received several accolades across Asia. Jun Ji-hyun won the Daesang (or “Grand Prize”), the highest award for Korean television, at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the SBS Drama Awards, and Kim Soo-hyun won at the Korea Drama Awards.
My Love from the Star is the second time Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun have collaborated. They worked together in the heist film The Thieves (2012). This series is also Jun’s television comeback after 14 years.
My Love from the Star is about Do Min Joon (Kim Soo-hyun), an alien who lands on Earth in the Joseon Dynasty. He possesses a near perfect appearance and enhanced physical abilities involving his vision, hearing and speed. 400 years later, when he is do to leave earth, he meets and falls in love with top Hallyu (Korean Wave) star, actress Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun), who is a very modern woman.
