In The Brightest Star in the Sky (2019), a music-loving young woman named Yang Zhen Zhen (Wu Qian) lands what she hopes will be her dream job at Star Entertainment, one of China’s top talent agencies.
Star Entertainment is the top entertainment agency in China. It was set up by a couple, Cheng Tianhao and Du Wanqing, who eventually separated due to differing beliefs in managing the company. A young girl, Yang Zhenzhen has a passion for music and she joins Starry Sky Entertainment and is assigned as Zheng Boxu’s assistant. Boxu is a popular idol who is arrogant and unruly. Zhenzhen attempts to help him correct his flaws and unleash his potential and the popular idol slowly transforms into a talented singer. During this process, Yang Zhenzhen gains experience and becomes a capable idol manager. At the same time, Du Wanqing is grooming another singer, Yu Zirui, who shapes up to become Boxu’s biggest competitor ever.
